I have Parkinson's Disease and, among other things, have had difficulty communicating with people. I received speech therapy from Kimberly Thompson following the LSVT LOUD therapy, a program that is aimed at this condition. This was absolutely wonderful! It gave me voice exercises that I can do to strengthen my voice and use going forward to maintain my voice. Ms. Thompson did an excellent job and was very professional, well informed and quite pleasant and considerate to work with. I highly recommend this to anyone with a similar need.
I had my first experience as a patient in the OR with Dr. Travis Wiggins in August. I was greeted with a smile and checked in quickly by the customer service representatives. There was a delay in my procedure start time but I was well taken care of by the wonderful OR staff and my family was kept informed. The environment was nice and clean. I recommend Effingham Health System for all your healthcare needs.
I had my first initial visit with Dr. Toni Sylvester at the Women's Health Center. She is amazing. She was so caring and explained everything so I could understand and took time with me. The entire staff there was excellent. I believe I made a great choice in seeing her.
My doctor scheduled infusions here. Twice they've had no record of appointments after calling me to confirm and once they didn't have the medication on hand! Also, expect very long waits (1-2 hours). I don't understand when I literally was the only patient here! They post all over the hospital about the importance of communication but no one gave me any kind of update as I sat for hours. Today I started to walk out (after 1 1/2 hours) only to be assured that they found my medication even though they didn't know I was coming. That was 20 minutes ago. Back to waiting. Last time I'll visit this place. My doctor has offered St Joseph Candlers in Savannah which is closer so I'll be going there from now on.
My family has used the Imaging Services on several occasions over the last year, at the hospital and Imaging Center. Always great service! Facilities are clean. Staff is wonderful!
